Who we are.
The Catamount Innovation Fund is…
a University student-run educational program that is supported by the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR).
Catamount Innovation Fund is intended to be a resource for Affiliates and Affiliated Persons relative to the design, start-up and management of new business ventures and activities relating thereto.
Catamount Innovation Fund’s mission is twofold; (i) to foster cross-disciplinary entrepreneurship on UVM’s campus by helping students launch successful ventures and (ii) to provide an extracurricular learning environment.
Our Structure:
The Catamount Innovation Fund is built on two complementary structures that allow us to operate efficiently and support student entrepreneurs.
Internally, our organization is divided into three core teams: Events, Marketing, and Funding.
The Events Team plans and and executes our signature programs, networking events, and pitch competitions. These gatherings connect ventures with potential mentors, investors, and collaborators.
The Marketing Team works to spread awareness of CIF’s mission throughout the UVM campus. By generating social media content, flyers, and a routine newsletter, they ensure that CIF remains an accessible resource for UVM.
Finally, the Funding Team manages the financial backbone of CIF. They oversee the allocation and tracking of the funds that fuel our internal initiatives and the student ventures we support.
Externally, each student analyst partners with one venture, offering personalized consulting and strategic guidance. This focused approach ensures that every venture receives the dedicated support needed to navigate obstacles and reach its full potential.
